Native Americans used white willow for headaches, fever, sore muscles, rheumatism and chills. It is considered better than aspirin, in that it does not cause the stomach to bleed.
- Nattokinase: Nattokinase is a traditional Japanese fermented soy food, much like a cheese. To make nattokinase, boiled soybeans are combined with the bacteria Bacillus subtilis natto. It has a strong, cheese-like smell, a nutty, salty flavor, and a sticky consistency, and is often eaten as a breakfast food with rice. It has been shown to help dissolve abnormal blood clots that can cause heart attacks and strokes, and support healthy blood flow by assisting the circulatory clearing system of the body.
Common causes of high cholesterol levels
Common causes include eating foods that are high in saturated fats and cholesterol, smoking, leading an inactive lifestyle and being overweight.
